Design brief

Built for the route, not the showroom

Three decisions drove the whole bicycle. Each one trades a feature a Western commuter would want for something a Ghanaian rider actually needs.

01

Steel, not aluminium

An aluminium frame that cracks is scrap. A steel one can be brazed back together in any roadside workshop in the country. We gave up a kilo of weight to buy a frame that outlives the rider's loan.
02

Repairable, not sealed

Single speed, standard bearings, a coaster brake with no cable to the back wheel. Every part on this bicycle is one a fitter in Accra already stocks and already knows how to fix.
03

Rated to carry

The rack is not a styling detail. It is rated to 40 kg because the people buying these are moving stock, water and school bags — and a rack that bends on the first load is worse than no rack.
The Bicycle line

One frame, built to carry

Every BEEP bicycle shares the same steel frame, the same wheels and the same running gear. What changes is what it is set up to carry, and what you pay for it.

Rider economics

Against the daily fare

The case is not fitness and it is not the environment. It is that a rider already paying a trotro fare twice a day is paying more than a bicycle costs — and at the end of the fare there is nothing to show for it.

Made in Ghana

Assembled locally, serviced locally

Knocked-down kits land in Tema and are assembled in-country. That is not a marketing line — it is what makes spare parts available in a week instead of a quarter, and what puts trained fitters on the route.

TVET partnership
Technician training pipeline for assembly and field service.
Local content
Frames, racks and mudguards sourced progressively in-country.
Parts within days
Regional parts holding instead of a 90-day import cycle.
Service network
Fitters trained on the build, not just the brand.
